Michaela Dotson
Welcome to TSA!!! I am Michaela Dotson, TSA counselor for last names A-L. I started my career in education in 2011 in Spring ISD as a third grade math and science teacher. I graduated from Sam Houston State University (Eat 'Em Up Kats!) with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, minoring in Special Education. In 2014, I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from the University of St. Thomas. I began my employment with Tomball ISD in 2013 at Tomball Memorial High School as a Special Education Teacher. My counseling career started in 2016 at Tomball Junior, and I later transitioned to my current home at Tomball Star Academy in 2018.
My personal philosophy on education is that all students are capable of being successful. My job is to determine how to best support the journey to this success. I am here to meet your students' college and career and social-emotional needs. TSA has so much to offer our students, and I'm excited to share the knowledge I have acquired over the years with students and parents. I have an open-door policy; students are always welcome to drop in at any time. Parents may contact me via email or phone to schedule an appointment. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

About Me
Howdy! My name is Shannon Gutierrez and I am excited to be working with the students, families and staff at TSA. I am the school counselor for students with last names M-Z. I am here to help your students with their academic, career and personal development.
As a first-generation college student, I believe in the transformative power of public education. I have over 20 years of experience in education across all grade levels, working as a teacher, specialist and school counselor. I love building relationships with students and families and being part of Team Tomball. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two sons and daughter. We love traveling, cooking (and eating!), playing games and cheering on the Houston Astros!
I am always available for my students and their families. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
