Welcome to United States History 1301 😊

Howdy! I'm Professor Lerma and this is my third year teaching Dual Credit United States History at Tomball Star Academy.  I am so excited to be part of your educational path and I look forward to taking each of you on a challenging, fun, and exciting voyage through our nation's past.

My passion for history began when I was sixteen and spent a year abroad as an exchange student. Meeting people from different cultures, religions, ethnic backgrounds, etc. taught me the importance of exploring one’s heritage as well as respecting and empathizing with others.

I earned my bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M and my master’s degree at Sam Houston State University. I have previously taught at two other area high schools and have been teaching as an adjunct History professor at Lone Star College since 2014.

My goal this year is for each student to leave class feeling empowered with the knowledge and skills to be successful in their educational endeavors, future careers, and as community citizens.

Below you will find my contact information as well as our class syllabus. I have made every effort to finalize the schedule, but it is listed as tentative and may change if necessary.

Let's have a great year!
